Scottsdale Water executive receives Person of the Year award

Scottsdale Water Executive Director Brian Biesemeyer was awarded Person of the Year by Arizona Water Association and Arizona WateReuse at the 2024 Arizona WateReuse Symposium.
Biesemeyer, his directors and key employees were actively involved in the conference to moderate panels and facilitate on key topics involving Advanced Water Purification, according to a press release announcing the recognition.
“In recognition of his 30 years of dedication and leadership in water and water reuse, Brian has spearheaded and guided innovative initiatives while leading Scottsdale Water and is recognized as a true leader in the water industry,” the release continued. “Under his leadership, Scottsdale Water was the first to receive an Advanced Water Purification permit in Arizona and the first to launch a Citizen Water Academy to cultivate public participation. Biesemeyer demonstrates an exemplary professional relationship within the industry and across the state.”
Over his tenure with Scottsdale Water, Biesemeyer has been active in water reuse and is a past national board member of the WateReuse Association and a past president of WateReuse Arizona. He is also a past chair and current member of the Management Board of the Arizona Municipal Water Users Association, the announcement continued.
“This award is a great honor and reflects well on Scottsdale Water as an organization that lives its vision of ‘water sustainability through stewardship, innovation, and people,’” Biesemeyer said in the release. “I am honored to be part of an organization that is dedicated to using innovative strategies to ensure water supplies for many generations.”
The award was recently presented at the 2024 Annual WateReuse Conference in Flagstaff.
