Scottsdale Unified launches open enrollment

The Scottsdale Unified School District welcomes all families, in and out of boundary, to choose one of its 30 schools for their students’ education. The application process for non-resident students seeking to enroll in SUSD for the 2024-25 school year begins 8 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 1, at susd.org/open.

Applicants’ families will learn Dec. 1 whether their application has been accepted and what additional steps they must take to complete the enrollment process.

Referred to as “open enrollment,” Arizona law permits students to attend the school of their choice, regardless of district boundaries. Open enrollment can also be used by in-district students who wish to attend a school other than the one to which they are assigned geographically, based on where they live.

“SUSD’s commitment to educational excellence is reflected in the most recent release of the Arizona State Board of Education’s school letter grades,” said Dr. Scott Menzel, SUSD Superintendent. “Not only did our district receive an overall A grade, but 22 of our schools individually received an A, and 28 out of 30 received an A or a B.  These grades reflect the hard work and dedication of our students and staff.”

Regular enrollment for the 2024-25 school year for in-district children enrolling in SUSD for the first time and who wish to attend their neighborhood school begins Dec. 1 at susd.org/enroll.
