Scottsdale Schools note 12 COVID cases to date

Correction: A former version of this story incorrectly stated the percentage of populous with COVID-19 at Anasazi Elementary. Three cases out of a population of 485 is 0.62%. 

Less than a week after Scottsdale public schools opened on Aug. 4, there are 12 COVID-19 cases reported.

As of Aug. 5, the Scottsdale Unified School District has shared its reported total confirmed numbers and percentages of in-person, active COVID-19 cases on site involving its students and staff, according to information on the district’s dashboard.

  • Anasazi Elementary reported three confirmed active cases out of 485 students and staff on site, which makes up 0.62% of the populous;
  • Arcadia High School reported one confirmed active case out of 1844 students and staff on site, which makes up 0.05% of the populous;
  • Copper Ridge (K-8) reported one confirmed active case out of 699 students and staff on site, which makes up 0.14% of the populous;
  • Hopi Elementary reported four confirmed active cases out of 801 students and staff on site, which makes up 0.5% of the populous;
  • Saguaro High School reported one confirmed active case out of 1627 students and staff on site, which makes up 0.06% of the populous;
  • Sequoya Elementary reported two confirmed active cases out of 643 students and staff on site, which makes up 0.31% of the populous.
