Delta Dental of Arizona announced the promotion of Scottsdale resident Scott A. Pederson from vice president of marketing and communications to chief marketing officer.
In this role, Mr. Pederson will continue to drive the company’s steady growth by building upon the strength of the Delta Dental brand, driving awareness to Delta Dental of Arizona, bringing value to all who interact with the brand, according to a press release.
As CMO, Mr. Pederson will bring a renewed focus to key marketing initiatives including highly targeted digital campaigns and content marketing.
“Since joining Delta Dental of Arizona, Scott has applied his depth and breadth of strategic marketing and business acumen to bear by rebalancing and redirecting our resources,” Delta Dental of Arizona CEO Allan Allford said in a prepared statement.
“He has brought a new level of marketing sophistication to the company worthy of the Delta Dental brand and has been recognized nationally as a proficient and talented resource. Our customers, our team and our brand could not be in better hands.”
Mr. Pederson joined the Delta Dental team in February of 2016. He brings more than 35 years of diverse, senior-level marketing, brand and communications experience at top Fortune 500 companies, including UnitedHealthcare, American Express, Best Buy and IBM to the chief marketing officer role.

As a native Minnesotan, Mr. Pederson says he thoroughly enjoys “shoveling the sunshine” here in the Valley. He is an avid hiker, who can be found on the trails with his Labrador Retriever, Walter.
