Scottsdale resident Priya Radhakrishnan has been named chair-elect of the Board of Governors of the American College of Physicians, the national organization of Internal Medicine specialists.

Her term began on Saturday, April 30, 2022, at the conclusion of ACP’s annual business meeting.

She will take office at the conclusion of the 2023 annual business meeting.

Radhakrishnan is the chief academic officer and vice president for health equity at HonorHealth in Scottsdale and a clinical professor of medicine at University of Arizona College of Medicine - Phoenix. She attended Calicut Medical College in India for her medical degree. She became a Fellow of ACP (FACP) in 2011. Fellowship is an honorary designation that recognizes ongoing individual service and contributions to the practice of medicine.

Radhakrishnan also currently serves as the governor of ACP’s Arizona chapter.

The board of governors is an advisory board to the Board of Regents and implements national projects in addition to representing members at the national level. Governors are elected by local ACP members and serve four-year terms. Working with a local council, they supervise ACP chapter activities, appoint members to local committees, and preside at regional meetings. They also represent members by serving on the ACP Board of Governors.

Within the Arizona Chapter of ACP, she served as chair of the Awards Committee and as a member of the chapter’s Advocacy Committee.

ACP is a national organization of internists, the largest medical-specialty organization, and second-largest physician group in the United States. The group's 161,000 members include internists, internal medicine subspecialists, medical students, residents and fellows.
