Scottsdale PD arrest, charge man with luring a minor for sexual exploitation

The Scottsdale Police Department Human Exploitation and Trafficking Unit has arrested a 25-year-old man for attempting to lure a minor for sexual activities.
Steven Newberry has been charged with luring of a minor for sexual exploitation and attempted sexual contact with a minor, police said.
According to authorities, Newberry "initiated contact and began communicating with an undercover detective who was posing as a 16-year-old.
"He had arranged to pick up the girl to engage in a sexual act in his vehicle. Upon arrival, he was arrested and booked" on the charges.
In a department website post announcing the arrest, Scottdale police asked anyone who has information about a trafficking situation to:
