Scottsdale detectives have reportedly arrested and charged two suspects for allegedly breaking into the Mercedes-Benz dealership on Scottsdale Road during the May 2020 riot.

Ivan Nunez-Mendoza and Seneca Rodriguez are the two people who have been detained, police officials say.

The investigation led to identifying Nunez-Mendoza as a subject who allegedly broke into the Mercedes-Benz dealership and stole sunglasses during the riots, police say. He was captured on dealership surveillance video tipping over a display case and removing the merchandise from the dealership.

On May 26, he was arrested by Scottsdale detectives, booked and released on felony charges of burglary. No property was recovered.

Rodriguez was seen with Nunez-Mendoza on the Mercedes-Benz dealership surveillance video, police say. She was seen entering the dealership and damaging property and stealing sunglasses from the dealership.

Rodriguez was arrested on May 26, on felony charges of burglary. No property was recovered.

The total number of post-incident arrest has increased to 64 for crimes committed during the May 2020 riots. Also, over $244,000 worth of merchandise has been returned to victim businesses.

“We continue to actively follow up on evidence, tips and information in a commitment to bring those responsible for criminal acts to justice. We would like to thank the public for continuing to provide tips and information that have helped our detectives identify more suspects. We will continue to provide updates as they become available,” police said in a press release.
