Scottsdale has partnered with the Mayo Clinic and the nonprofit Change the Lead for a free community Juneteenth Celebration, 2-7 p.m. June 19 at Scottsdale Stadium, 7408 E. Osborn Road.
There will be a variety of activities throughout the day, including a kids' corner, raffle giveaway, live entertainment, educational information, vendors and more.
Juneteenth commemorates the abolition of slavery, specifically the emancipation of enslaved people in Texas, who did not receive the news until two years after abolition.
