I find the statements of the Scottsdale City Council in the Independent’s Jan. 22 edition article on sustainability comical and here is why.
They spend a lot of time discussing the future sustainability of Scottsdale while approving massive apartment construction which has added a population explosion impacting hospitals, schools, traffic and general people crowding every aspect of citizens’ lives with little relief in sight.
Any bare land is being developed, it seems, into high-rise apartments and assisted living buildings.
How do you discuss sustainability when you have what some citizens in my area might say is out-of-control population growth, and it also seems like the City Council has no plan?
Kick the can down the road after it is built seems to be their methodology.
