To celebrate Native American art and culture, the Scottsdale Gallery Association will hold the Native Spirit Gold Palette ArtWalk on Thursday, Feb. 27 from 6:30 to 9 p.m.
The event takes place within the Scottsdale Arts District, stretching along Main Street from Scottsdale Road to Goldwater Boulevard, and north of Indian School Road on Marshall Way to 5th Avenue.
On the artwalk, guests can visit the following specially themed events at a multitude of art galleries:
King Galleries Scottsdale, 7077 E. Main St, #20: From 5 p.m. - 9 p.m., King Galleries presents its annual Heard Indian Market show.
Legacy Gallery, 7178 E. Main St. This special event presents the rare opportunity for guests to connect personally with Native American designers and learn the stories behind their exquisite creations.
The Marshall Gallery, 7106 E. Main St. The Marshall Gallery presents the works of several highly acclaimed artists including David Jonason (oil), Alvin Gill-Tapia (acrylic), Nic McGuire (glass) and Nocona Burgess (acrylic).
On the Edge Gallery, 7045 E. Main St. On the Edge highlights the works of three artists: Dean Grissom, Pat Isaacson and Peggy Orbon.
The Signature Gallery, 7177 E. Main St. The Signature Gallery presents “Voices and Journeys,” a two-artist exhibition showcasing the works of acclaimed bronze sculptor Star Liana York and renowned oil painter B.C. Nowlin, both of whom as New Mexican artists with a profound connection to the many different cultures and heritage of the land.
Territorial Indian Arts, 7100 E. Main St., #3. The gallery will present classic Native American jewelry, both antique and contemporary.
Wilde Meyer Gallery, 4142 N. Marshall Way. Wilde Meyer Gallery presents a show of works that celebrates Native American culture, including pieces by artists such as Jim Nelson and Thom Ross.
