Scottsdale coalition seeks residents’ views on Prop 490

Posted

The Scottsdale Power Poll — sponsored by the Scottsdale Coalition of Today and Tomorrow — is here to engage Scottsdale residents, determine what is important to us and help shape the narrative of what we want to see from city leadership.

This week, our power poll is asking residents how they feel about the Goldwater Institute’s decision to (once again) sue the City of Scottsdale to block Proposition 490, which provides critical funding for police, fire, parks and Preserve, from taking effect.

Prop 490 had overwhelming support from Scottsdale residents, who pay a premium to live here because of our exceptional amenities, world-class services and high property values. Our residents have spoken clearly, multiple times: we support funding the things that make Scottsdale the gold standard of the Valley, and the poll results so far overwhelmingly (90%) echo that sentiment. Losing this critical funding right before our 2025-26 fiscal budget is adopted will be a devastating blow that will leave the city scrambling to fund the priorities of our residents.

Please take the poll and send emails to Council asking them to support Prop 490 and respect the results of the vote.
