Scottsdale closes ball fields, McDowell Mountain Ranch Skate Park

Posted

While the City of Scottsdale’s hiking and bicycling trails and other outdoor areas remain open to those practicing physical distancing, as part of the municipality’s effort to limit the spread of the coronavirus, the following park amenities will be closed through Thursday, April 30:

  • All baseball and softball fields (reservations are cancelled)
  • The Skate Park at McDowell Mountain Ranch Aquatic Center

Park playgrounds are not closed, and city staff are cleaning these areas daily.

However, these areas should not be considered sanitized and free of COVID-19 or other viruses, according to city officials.

“We strongly encourage all Arizonans to stay at home whenever possible; however if you choose to come to a park, recreate responsibly,” Scottsdale Communications Supervisor Ann Porter stated.
