Scottsdale Beer Company to raise money for Arizona Humane Society

Posted

Scottsdale resident and brewpub owner Doug Ledger along with his team at Scottsdale Beer Company will be serving up suds to benefit the homeless animals of the Arizona Humane Society.

Head brewer Brad Williams created a limited-edition Belly Rubs Hazy IPA which will be released at 5 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 14 at a special Bark & Brew event taking place until 8 p.m. at Scottsdale Beer Company, according to a press release.

The pet-friendly event will include AHS’ Waggin’ Wheels Mobile Adoption vehicle with adoptable pets as well as a limited number of 32-ounce cans of Belly Rubs IPA and limited-edition T-shirts.

The Belly Rubs Hazy IPA will be available throughout the holiday season at 30 local bars and restaurants. A portion of the proceeds will go back to pets.

They are two of nine pups born in an AHS Foster Hero home and two of more than 4,200 pets cared for in AHS’ Foster Hero program this last year. A portion of proceeds from the special brew will go back to AHS’ lifesaving programs and services.

Since its inception, Scottsdale Beer Company, a microbrewery, has proven that a small, local company can become a source of charity and giving back.

The brewpub has contributed more than $130,000 to Arizona charities, schools, military organizations, and regularly donates the use of their facilities for charity.

“This partnership with the Arizona Humane Society is really special to us and any time we can put our resources to work for the homeless animals they serve and the work they do in the community is a win-win for everyone,” Mr. Ledger said in a prepared statement.
