As part of a citywide review, Scottsdale Aviation staff has conducted a market analysis of its rates and fees and discovered that some categories are below market average.
Revenue is used to cover the airport’s service costs, debt service and provide adequate funding for future capital needs, so the department claims it’s important to determine a fair market rate, according to a press release.
This is the first proposed rate adjustment in several years. The proposals are for airport/airpark fuel flowage fee; transient parking fees for jets and helicopters and add a new category for single/twin turboprop; airport rental car concession services; aircraft fuel storage facility requirements; and airport hourly rate.
A detailed list of the proposed changes are on the Scottsdale Airport website. there will also be an open house from 4-6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 21 in the Thunderbird/Stearman meeting room on the second floor of the Aviation Business Center, 15000 N. Airport Drive.
There will be no formal presentations, but there will be opportunities to learn more about the proposed changes and to ask questions, a release states.
The aviation staff is also accepting submitted comments prior to Wednesday, Nov. 27. Those interested can send an email to airportcomment@scottsdaleaz.gov or mail comments to the Aviation Business Center at 15000 N. Airport Drive, suite 100, Scottsdale, Arizona 85260.
