SCC welcomes back 115 students through Complete Your Dreams program

Posted

Scottsdale Community College hosted a ceremony Jan. 9 honoring the recipients of a free three-credit-hour class for the upcoming semester.

The school awarded the credit hours to returning students who had previously left the school without completing their schooling. The initiative is called Complete Your Dreams.

The original goal was to bring back 100 students but SCC Interim President Chris Haines announced 115 students were returning. Funding for those returning came from SCC faculty and staff, community members and the school's Advisory Board.

At the event, Ms. Haines as well as Tawni Rachel, stundent services supervisor, and recipients  all spoke. Recipients told their stories of why they left school and ultimately returned.
