Notre Dame Prep students will enjoy the comfort and safety of new buses and updated classrooms next year as the school raised a record-breaking $340,000 to enhance school programs and provide better transportation for students through its Annual Auction Fashion Show.

Held Saturday, May 14, at the J.W. Marriot Phoenix Desert Ridge Resort and Spa, the event was sponsored by Wilde Wealth Management, with clothes for the senior fashion show portion provided by Dillard’s at Fashion Square, according to a press release.

“This was by far the most money we’ve ever made at this event,” said organizer, Heather Weurding, NDP assistant director of advancement for special events and outreach, in the release. “It was a magical night, and the venue was perfect.”

With more than 600 guests in attendance and short ribs and jumbo shrimp on the menu, attendees bid on items ranging from a fly-fishing trip in Casper, Wyoming, to an adorable rescue puppy, the release said.

Notre Dame Prep President Jill Platt said she was astounded by the success of the event and grateful to the volunteers, parents and students who participated.

“I cannot believe what an incredible evening it was,” Platt said. “I’m looking forward to the ability to improve our classrooms and buses and to modernize our school as we approach the twentieth anniversary of opening our school.”

The theme of the event was Desert Dreams, and the décor and centerpieces were created by White House Floral Design in Phoenix.

“It takes a lot of work by many people to put on an event like this,” Weurding said. “I must thank all those who donated the amazing items that made the auction possible, and Lisa Richeson, our volunteer fashion show coordinator, who always does an amazing job of choosing outfits and organizing students.”

A Notre Dame Prep tradition to kick off graduation week, with a senior fashion show capping off the annual gala auction, this year nearly 200 seniors graced the stage in the latest spring fashions, the release said.

“Watching the seniors and seeing them together for one of their final times as students, is always my favorite part of the evening, said Platt. “The evening was so glorious and the perfect representation of who we are as a community of faith and education.”
