Gala raised $700,000

The nonprofit notMYkid held its “Dream Big” Gala April 24 at Scottsdale Resort at McCormick Ranch.

About 400 guests attended, raising $700,000, according to a press release.

At the gala, notMYkid honored the Legacy Foundation and Jerry Wissink for their many years of support and investing more than $650,000 in notMYkid, which has helped expand services to rural, underserved communities.

Nicole Lee Roberts was also honored for investing in notMYkid’s dog therapy program and who, in partnership with the Fetch Foundation, helped find George the Therapy Dog. This is an important distinction as Robert’s late son’s name was George, the release stated. George the Therapy Dog escorted Roberts to the stage.

The co-chairs this year were Lisa Henry Holmes and Kelley Carter. Scottsdale Recovery was the presenting sponsor.

Susie Alofs with Southwest Events and Teepee Rentals donated the décor, including the naked teepee that was the center of attention in the cocktail hour, according to the release.
