New chief nursing officer for Abrazo Scottsdale, Cave Creek hospitals

Charlotte Rankin, a registered nurse, is the new chief nursing officer and chief operating officer for Abrazo Scottsdale Campus and Abrazo Cave Creek Hospital.

A former ICU and cardiac nurse, she has more than 25 years of health care leadership experience working with staff and providers to enhance hospital operations, quality care and exceptional service, according to a press release.

“I am excited to join the Abrazo team and start collaborating with our nurses, staff and providers,” Rankin said in the release. “Abrazo continues to invest in talent, technology and facilities, and I look forward to advancing our hospitals’ role in serving the northeast Valley.”

Abrazo Scottsdale Campus is a 120-bed acute care hospital at 3929 E. Bell Road, offering diverse surgical services including complex orthopedic, spine, bariatric and general surgery. It also offers an emergency department, ICU and other services. Abrazo Scottsdale was named a High Performing hospital for knee replacement and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease care in the U.S. News & World Report 2022-2023 Best Hospitals.

Abrazo Cave Creek Hospital is a neighborhood hospital located at 5227 E. Carefree Highway. It serves patients of all ages and includes a 13-bed emergency department, a full imaging suite and eight inpatient rooms. Staff work side-by-side with first responders to serve the community and provide around the clock emergency care.

Rankin will also serve as chief nursing officer for the Tenet Arizona Group. She joins Abrazo from Mercy Hospital Northwest in Rogers, Arkansas, where she was chief operating officer and chief nursing officer. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Northeastern State University and Masters in Health Care Administration from the University of Phoenix.
