Mavrix hires new general manager, executive chef amidst bounce back
Scottsdale entertainment concept brings in fresh talent during strong second fiscal quarter
Posted
The post-COVID-19 bounce back is in full swing at Scottsdale-based entertainment concept Mavrix.
Mavrix, located off Loop 101 and Talking Stick Way, is owned by Scottsdale-based Octane Entertainment, which also owns the indoor-outdoor go-kart track and entertainment venue Octane Raceway next door.
The entertainment destination opened on March 7, 2020, mere days before a government mandate forced the venue to shut down as a COVID-19 precaution.
With an increased demand for family entertainment in the second fiscal quarter of this year, the bowling and gaming venue has hired Dallas Henderson as its new general manager and Scott Nelson as its executive chef.
“Following a tough start due to the pandemic shutdown, we can confidently say that Mavrix will thrive in 2021 with the hiring of these two industry professionals,” Scott Sanders, CEO of Octane Entertainment, stated in the release.
These new hires signal a strong bounce back from the pandemic, allowing the concept to grow and thrive as businesses move into the post-COVID-19 era.
“Dallas and Scott bring a wealth of knowledge in their fields, and we couldn’t be more excited to have them on board as our concept grows,” Mr. Sanders stated.
Mr. Henderson is a familiar face to the service industry in Phoenix and brings experience as a director of operations for a bowling venue and as an operating partner and regional manager of a local restaurant chain.

Along with a wide variety of entertainment options, Mavrix also boasts a chef-driven menu of entrees and delicious beverages.
Chef Scott Nelson is a former corporate chef and currently operates as a consulting executive chef for many valley restaurants.
In his new role at Mavrix, Mr. Nelson will be granted extensive creative freedom to craft a made-from-scratch menu of Mavrix’s hearth oven pizzas, inventive appetizers and delicious entrees.
Mavrix also promoted Jason Brothers from operations manager during this COVID-19 recovery.
Mr. Brothers, who joined the Mavrix team in 2020, has been promoted to assistant general manager.
His experience as general manager and front-of-house supervisor for bowling concepts make him a tremendous asset to the Octane Entertainment team.
Mavrix is also hiring additional talent to join its growing concept, including servers, bartenders, cooks and more. To apply, visit www.mavrix.com/careers.
