Lusson: I don’t want roundabouts on Scottsdale Road

I am all for improving Scottsdale Road a little, but what is proposed is too much. Especially the roundabouts.
I cannot express enough the hatred of roundabouts. There are two on Hayden just north of Cactus (Raintree and Hayden, and Hayden and Northsight). I avoid these areas so much. Who on earth likes them? I literally drive so far out of my way to avoid them. Consider the older drivers when they come up to them. They are frightening. My husband tells me they are better and don't back up; but they do back up also.
Also, the cost. Think you need to relook at what is really needed. I drive up Scottsdale Road to my daughter in Cave Creek two to three times a week. Maybe more lanes for part of Scottsdale Road, but surely we don't need all this expensive stuff. Don't see the need for raised medians, curbs and gutters. We live in a desert. Why do we always have to make things look citylike?
Maybe you should talk to people who drive Scottsdale Road.
