Plexus Worldwide, a direct-selling health and wellness company, invites local businesses to participate in its third annual Pima Center Community Walk benefiting Phoenix Children’s Heart Center.

In addition to sponsoring the walk, Plexus secured commitments from nearly 20 companies to join the charity event, which is expected to raise $25,000 with 100% of the proceeds going to the Heart Center, according to a press release.

Plexus organizers anticipate more than 800 walkers participating in a one- or two-mile route through the business park on Nov. 12. Participating companies include Natural Partners Fullscript, V.I.P. Mortgage and Firetrace.

“As an on-going partner with Phoenix Children’s Hospital, we are proud to see so many of our neighbors in the Pima Center and Talking Stick Entertainment District join our charity walk for such an important campaign,” said Tarl Robinson, Plexus founder/CEO, in a prepared statement.

“Bringing together businesses for such a great cause has helped us get to know our neighbors and form new relationships that create a better community for everyone.”

“Phoenix Children’s Hospital provides hope, healing and the best healthcare for sick kids and their families, and we are honored to see so many local businesses come together to help our kids,” said Patty Barney, of Phoenix Children’s Hospital, in a prepared statement.

Community members can join this year’s Pima Center Community Walk presented by Plexus on Nov. 12 with registration beginning at 8 a.m., the walk begins at 9 a.m. from Plexus Headquarters at 9145 E. Pima Center Parkway, located along the Loop 101 Freeway and Via de Ventura on the Salt River Pima Indian Community.

There will also be activities, food trucks and raffle tickets for numerous prizes supplied by local business partners, the release noted.

“Plexus has been giving back to charitable organizations in our local community for years and it’s wonderful to see other companies, large and small, join us to make an even bigger impact on the lives of local families when they need it most,” said Mary Ann Luciano, vice president of philanthropy at Plexus, in a prepared statement.

The Salt River Police Department and Salt River Fire Department will be available to ensure the safety of all walkers, the release added.

A $25 registration fee includes a T-shirt, water and snacks and pre-registration is required by Nov. 8 at GivetoPCH.org/pccwalk.
