Desert Stages Theatre presents its first youth production since February of 2020 with “You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown,” musical comedy based on the characters created by cartoonist Charles M. Schulz in his comic strip Peanuts.
Performances at 7:30 p.m. run through Sunday, June 6 on Fridays and Saturdays and at 3 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays with swing performances at 3 p.m.; 7:30 p.m. for Snoopy on Friday June 4; and Lucy at 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 5.
Music and lyrics is by Clark Gesner, according to a press release, describing the musical, which explores life through the eyes of Charlie Brown, Lucy van Pelt, Snoopy, and all his friends.
Musical numbers include “My Blanket and Me,” “The Kite,” “The Baseball Game,” “Little Known Facts,” “Suppertime,” and “Happiness, noted the release.
Directed by Valley youth arts director and advocate Meribeth Reeves, this revue of songs is an ideal musical for the whole family as the release said the production is appropriate for audiences of all ages.
