Scottsdale officials approved job order contracts for city-wide electrical construction services, worth up to $5 million annually.
On Jan. 14, the Scottsdale City Council approved on consent a resolution authorizing contracts with Keller Electrical Industries Inc., and with Rosendin Electric, Inc.
The City Council meeting was at municipal headquarters, 3939 N. Drinkwater Blvd.
The contracts are for electrical construction and maintenance services throughout the city, according to a city staff report.
The contracts will be in effect for two years after the date of award, with an option to extend for three additional one-year periods based on successful contractor performance. The terms allow for issuance of multiple job orders, up to a total value not to exceed $5 million for the first two years of each contract, the city staff report stated.
For each job order, the job order contracts contractor will be available to work with capital project management staff throughout project design development, providing input on value engineering, cost estimates and construction schedules.
Project types to be constructed under the contracts may include pump installations, standby generator installation, water/wastewater control systems and automation, fiber optic data and solar installation.

I first started my journalism portfolio at the age of 15 while in high school before going on to study at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communications. Being in the journalism field is the only professional avenue I was ever interested in, and have worked hard covering topics from school boards to hard news while working for the Independent, where I have been awarded for my reporting.
