Three of the four subjects involved in Monday night’s shooting incident have been arrested, Public Information Officer Sgt. Ben Hoster says.
All three are juveniles and as result their names will not be released, Sgt. Hoster said.
The first suspect is a 14-year-old male and is facing charges of attempted murder and criminal damage. The second suspect, a 15-year-old male, is being charged with disorderly conduct with a weapon. The third suspect is a 15-year-old male and is charged with disorderly conduct. The final subject was released to a parent and he is not facing any criminal charges.
The investigation is ongoing and no further details are available at this time.
Scottsdale Police Department officers responded to a “shots fired” call at 78th Street and Glenrosa Avenue on Monday, June 1, at 6:35 p.m. where a 14-year-old male is suspected of firing a handgun at two victims, officials say.
As officers arrived, they located two adult victims who were uninjured.
Four juvenile male suspects were also located and detained after they were found hiding in the area, according to police officials.
Investigators determined that the victims and the suspects were involved in a verbal argument across the street from one another.
One of the suspects, a 14-year-old male, threatened the victims and then fired two rounds from a handgun at the victims.
One of the rounds struck an unoccupied parked car in the area.
The suspects then fled the area on foot, police say.
Officers were able to recover the handgun and identify the suspect who tired the rounds.
The investigation is on-going, and no further details are available at this time, police say.
