Ghost Street Asian Taqueria to take over Ling & Louie’s Asian Bar and Grill

Ghost restaurant in Scottsdale serves up deals for National Taco Day

Posted

In honor of National Taco Day on Oct. 4, Ghost Street Asian Taqueria will be taking over Ling & Louie’s Asian Bar and Grill in Scottsdale, offering its Ghost Street menu all day for buy-one-get-one-half-priced Asian street tacos and cocktail specials.

Ghost Street Asian Taqueria is a “ghost kitchen” or “virtual restaurant” that provides modern, Asian-inspired street tacos to diners. While the virtual kitchen operates out of Ling & Louie’s and is normally only available for delivery and takeout, Ghost Street Asian Taqueria will be setting up shop for the first time to celebrate the holiday with a dine-in experience, according to a press release.

“We’re looking forward to showcasing our virtual concept, Ghost Street Asian Taqueria, for National Taco Day with a day-long takeover and deals,” owner John Banquil said in the release. “We believe we have a truly unique brand in Ghost Street and this food holiday gives us the opportunity to show it off. Our Asian-inspired street tacos provide a fresh take on everyone’s favorite hand-held food and we’re excited to share the brand with our guests.”

The featured menu includes small bites with options such as Taquito Dumplings filled with chicken, potatoes and jalapenos, Wok-Charred Street Corn with aioli, cotija and fresh lime, and sushi rolls like the Carne Asada Roll. Ghost Street Asian Taqueria’s street taco menu includes flavorful Gochujang Chicken tacos served with tempura chicken and spicy aioli, Char Siu al Pastor tacos with a Thai chili-tomatillo salsa layered with bright pineapple salsa, Korean Steak Tacos with spicy gochujang chili sauce and Stir-Fried Veggie tacos piled high with roasted shishitos, jicama, cucumber, Asian guacamole and sambal.

All tacos can be made gluten-free by substituting artisanal lettuce wraps for the traditional tortilla shell. For dessert, the ghost kitchen serves up Banana Churro Bites filled with banana cheesecake, strawberries and caramel.

Started in 2020 during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic, Ghost Street Asian Taqueria used secret branding and a hidden menu to create a new brand that catered to changing times and social distancing. After successfully launching and maintaining its brand, Ghost Street Asian Taqueria remains a staple for takeout.

“National Taco Day on October 4th allows us to celebrate a beloved Southwest staple in a whole new way,” Banquil said in the release. “With our Ghost Street Asian Taqueria takeover, we’re taking this unique holiday to a new level.”
