Hunkapi Programs, an equine therapy farm located in the heart of Scottsdale, has announced it will host the 17th annual Celebrate the Art of Recovery event presented by Community Bridges on Saturday, Sept. 24 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The invite-only event is known for its inspiring stories and lifesaving resources for community members struggling with substance abuse and mental health issues, according to a press release.

Back for another year, local media personality Brandon Lee will join participants in painting a mural that will be hung on one of Hunkapi’s barns. The event will also include motivational speeches from Valley leaders, food and refreshments of healthy, local products like fresh squeezed juices, vegan donuts and more.

“This year’s theme, ‘everyone has a hand in recovery,’ will be a morning of healthy activities as we recognize not only those who are in recovery, but their family, friends and the community who offer their continuous support for others on the journey to a healthier life,” Stephanie Siete with Community Bridges said in the release. “Healing is possible, and millions of lives have been transformed through recovery. CARE is an opportunity to celebrate these accomplishments.”

The event will be at 12051 N. 96th St. in Scottsdale. Tickets cost $20.

The event is sponsored by Arizona’s Women Recovery Center, Axiom Recovery, Teen Challenge Arizona, Together AZ, Mercy Care, Aurora Behavioral Health and Scottsdale Recovery Center.
