Doyle, Joffe to co-chair The Saguaros 2023 Olympiad

Posted

Nearly 500 real estate professionals will embrace their inner athletes and take the field at Scottsdale Stadium to participate in the 2023 Olympiad fundraising event, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on April 14.

For the second year, the Olympiad, which is in its 24th year, will also include a general admission beer garden for the public to enjoy at the event, according to a press release.

A $100 general admission ticket provides entry to the event, food and drink all day, music, and a spectator area to view the Olympiad competitors. This year, the event is co-chaired by Saguaros members Sean Doyle, a land use and zoning attorney at Tiffany & Bosco, and Jonah Joffe a real estate agent at The Joffe Group.

Active members in the club, both were eager to take on the Olympiad leadership positions. Doyle is chairing the Brokers for Kids (BFK) division of the event, which includes teams of commercial real estate professionals. Joffe is chairing the Agents Benefiting Children (ABC) division of the event, which includes teams of residential real estate professionals.

“The Olympiad event takes place in April, but the fundraising actually begins months in advance of the event. We held our Olympiad kickoff meeting in January, and our teams have already been working hard to raise funds for children’s charities through sponsorship sales, raffle ticket sales, and other pre-Olympiad fundraising efforts,” stated Doyle in the release. ”

“Last year, The Saguaros awarded nearly $1.3 million in grant funding to 48 nonprofits serving Arizona’s children,” stated Joffe in the release. “We hope to surpass that number this year.”

About The Olympiad

Hosted annually at Scottsdale Stadium, The Olympiad, dating back to 1999, unites leaders from the commercial and residential real estate industries to compete in a combination of fundraising and athletic challenges. Featuring a residential division called Agents Benefiting Children, and the commercial division is known as Brokers For Kids, teams from participating companies fundraise for children’s charities by selling sponsorships leading up to the event.

The top fundraising team for Agents Benefiting Children will take home the Captain’s Cup, while the winner of the Broker’s for Kids division wields the Broker’s Cup. Plus, participating teams compete in lawn games, including pop-a-shot, cornhole, trash can beer pong and dodgeball, for an opportunity to be crowned the Olympiad Champion and hoist the Saguaros Cup.

About The Saguaros

Founded in 1987, the philanthropic and social club known today as the Saguaros has raised millions of dollars for local Arizona non-profit organizations. Composed of up to 50 young men under the age of 40, we proudly give back to the community and support children’s charities through our three main fundraising events: NiteFlite, Brokers for Kids, and Agents Benefiting Children.

The Saguaros service organizations not only raises money for children’s charities, but also encourages “hands on” interaction with the children the club supports. Active participation strengthens relationships with those it serves and with its charity partners. Due to the dedicated charitable foundation, all proceeds from Saguaros’ fundraising activities are funneled directly to 501 (c)(3) foundation, with 30% of the funds going into an endowment fund, and the remainder into a general fund for disbursement to the club’s charity partners.
