Desert Hills Community School of Music announces the open registration for its fall saxophone ensemble, which will launch Sunday, Oct. 8.
Open to saxophonists of all ages and ability levels, the ensemble will meet for rehearsals each Sunday leading up to a concert performance Oct. 29. The concert will be open to the general public and all rehearsals and the final concert will take place on the campus of Desert Hills Presbyterian Church, 34605 N. Tom Darlington Road.
DHCSM’s saxophone ensemble includes musicians of diverse ages and backgrounds – players have ranged in age from 11 to 84. While all are welcome to join, participants will likely get the most enjoyment from the ensemble if they have been playing saxophone for at least two years. There is a one-time $25 participation fee, and all musicians who sign up will receive a free 45-minute saxophone lesson with ensemble leader Jeffrey Anthony. This lesson may include ensemble material, fundamental skills or any other music of the player’s choosing.
