For the second time since the first Ball was held in 1966, the Desert Foundation Auxiliary presented two sisters, who are not twins, at its 55th Desert Ball.
Miss Grace Rebecca Posorske, class of 2020 and Miss Isabella Lynn Posorske, class of 2021 were presented on Dec. 22 at The Phoenician. In 1966, Miss Caren Elaine Cowie and Miss Catherine Ann Cowie were presented as part of the first Desert Ball, according to a press release.
Desert Foundation Auxiliary was founded in 1965 with the first Ball held on Dec. 29, 1966. For that event, the release said the "organizers decided to make an exception to the rule" of freshmen women being presented to include Caren Cowie a sophomore.
Since the 2020 Ball was cancelled due to COVID, the class of 2020 and 2021 were combined for the Ball this year and the “sister act” repeated itself 55 years later.
When the Posorske sisters were informed they were only the second set of sisters to participate in the Ball at the same time Isabelle Posorkse responded to being excited to have “history repeat itself,” added the release.
