The Valley STEM Festival, organized by Firebird Robotics from Chaparral High School, will be held outdoors on Jan. 14, 2023, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. with no charge for participants or attendees.

Firebird Robotics, FIRST Robotics team 3019, is a completely student-led organization with the goal to provide members of their community with valuable learning opportunities in the fields of STEM, according to a press release.

To inspire individuals in Scottsdale, the team is setting up the community STEM expo so that people — especially children and teens — will get to experience the wonder of science and engineering through exhibits set up by local STEM companies and schools, the release stated.

Some notable participants include the Arizona Science Center, iCode Scottsdale and Engineering for Kids. Members of the public will get to explore the booths set up by participants and hopefully become more aware of the STEM opportunities available to them in the area.

A food truck from Pizza Arno will also be present in case attendees want to buy lunch on site. The Valley STEM Festival will take place in the open campus area at 6935 E Gold Dust Ave.
