As a lifelong Scottsdale resident raising my boys in the same community, I'm deeply invested in the local officials representing my family. I take elections seriously and always do my research.
When choosing candidates, I have three key criteria they must meet before earning my support. I want someone moderate, who is willing to collaborate with both parties. That’s one of the things I most appreciate about Senator Christine Marsh. She is the most bipartisan member of the State Senate. She’s always willing to work with members of both parties to do what’s best for our community, whether it’s working to mitigate the fentanyl crisis or voting to maintain our roads and bridges.
I also want a pragmatic candidate. We don’t have time for politicians focused on the latest culture war issue. There are big issues facing our communities, ranging from a shortage of qualified teachers, an excess of short-term rentals damaging the character of our community, and a drought threatening our supply of water. Senator Marsh has consistently focused on solving these issues throughout her time in the legislature.
Finally, I want a candidate who will make sure our schools are well-funded. Providing children and families with quality public education options solves many upstream problems. I’ve seen Senator Marsh fight for our neighborhood schools time and again. She has worked to increase teacher pay, reduce class sizes, and make sure our public schools are actually able to spend the money they have been allocated.
I’m proud to cast my vote for Senator Marsh this November. Our community needs the moderate and pragmatic leadership that only she can deliver.
