Baseball-themed evening of free family activities coming to Glendale

Kids and families can participate in an upcoming baseball-themed evening in Glendale.
“Let’s Play Ball!”, taking place Thursday, May 20 at the Sahuaro Ranch Sports Complex, 9901 N. 63rd Ave., starts at 4:30 p.m.
First up is a free MLB National Youth “Pitch, Hit, Run” skills competition open to kids ages 7 to 14. Check-in starts at 4:30 p.m. followed by the competition at 5. Register online at pitchhitrun2021.leagueapps.com/events/2010805.
Next up will be the free USCM Mayor’s #Playball games and activities open to kids ages 2 to 14. Check-in starts at 6:30 p.m. followed by the competition at 7. Kids must register to compete by calling 623-930-2260 or emailing glendalemayor@glendaleaz.com.
Capping off the night will be a free showing of the family movie “The Rookie,” open to the first 30 families only, which starts at 8:15 p.m. Families can bring their own food, blankets and chairs to watch on the baseball field’s grass in the socially-distanced seating.
