Arizona Helping Hands receives donation from Scottsdale school

International School of Arizona’s Student Council, made up of 10 current ISA students and led by Susan Butler, is no stranger when it comes to giving in the community.

Within the last month, the student council donated 60 gift cards (totaling $1500) and also managed a toy drive with all proceeds going to those in need at the Arizona Helping Hands organization.

“Our student council purchased the gift cards with money raised through the school's ‘Free Dress Day,’” Butler stated in the release.

Free Dress Days are where students pay $2 on certain Fridays to be able to wear what they want and keep their uniforms at home for the day.

Arizona Helping Hands is one of Arizona’s largest service providers of basic needs to the more than 14,000 children in foster care. The organization is committed to providing essential needs, including beds, cribs, diapers, wipes, clothing and home safety items through their programs.

A representative of Arizona Helping Hands stated in the release that “organizations like ISA play a critical role in our success and ability to assist children in foster care and we are grateful for the generosity of organizations like ISA. Without donors, volunteers and community partners, our work would not be possible.”
