Apparently animals should be worried about tariffs, too

I think my dog Buster – a shelter dog brought up from Mexico – is worried about tariffs. Whenever the word is mentioned on a TV news show, his head pops up and he gets this worried look in his eyes.
I don't know why he does this. He doesn’t import or export anything and his only possessions are his toys – all of very little value.
But then on a recent evening news broadcast the Heard and McDonald Islands, near Australia, were mentioned and Buster did a one-paw/leg salute reminiscent of Elon Musk. I did some research on the New York Times (the leftist, radical, Marxist failing newspaper) which revealed that President Trump had placed a 10% tariff on the above mentioned islands. My research revealed that these islands have no human inhabitants, only penguins who were reported not to be in any kind of import/export business.
It seems that the Trump tariffs don’t differentiate among species. So, inform your dog, cat, bird, fish, lizard, etc. that they may be next in line (I don’t know about plants). And if your pet (plant?) might be an illegal immigrant without the appropriate papers, then be alert for a possible visit from I.C.E.
