Anti-war rally held in Scottsdale on 9/11
Posted
A peaceful anti-war rally and 9/11 commemoration event will be held at Scottsdale’s El Dorado Park on Saturday, Sept. 11.
The noon-3 p.m. event is hosted by the Arizona Libertarian Party and End the Damn Wars! organization.
“As we are coming to grips with the tumultuous exit of U.S. military forces from Afghanistan, the departure has raised long-term questions about U.S. foreign policy and America’s place in the world. We are honoring the memory of the nearly 3,000 who died 20 years ago on 9/11 by promoting peace and a foreign policy that avoids unnecessary intervention and instigation that could lead to another horrific attack,” said event host Lauren Snyder, 2nd Vice Chair and communications director of the AZ Libertarian Party.
Scheduled speakers include:
Lauren Snyder, Arizona Libertarian Party 2nd Vice Chair
Colette Jennings, Arizona Green Party Co-Chair and Young EcoSocialists of Arizona Caucus Vice-Chair
Steven Remus, Air Force Veteran and 2022 Libertarian Gubernatorial Candidate
Jeffrey Metrick, Army Veteran and 2022 Libertarian Congressional Candidate
Ron Supernault, Army Veteran and classical studies & history educator
Tyler Smith, Air Force Veteran and AZLP Candidate Recruitment Chair
Jake Howard, USMC Veteran and sobriety & fitness advocate
Additional supporters include Voter Choice AZ, and members of the Arizona Interfaith Movement and American Friends Service Committee.
Commemoration of lives lost on 9/11 and the 20-year “War on Terror” will be held.
