108th Southwestern Amateur Tournament to be held at Desert Mountain

The Southwestern Amateur Tournament will hold its 108th consecutive golf tournament at the Cochise Course in Desert Mountain June 14-17.
Desert Mountain Club in Scottsdale has been the home for the Southwestern Amateur Tournament for nearly eleven consecutive years. Cochise will be the host course this year. The Cochise course was last played for the Championship in 2019.
The tournament has seen many PGA legends participate over the years. Stars such as Collin Morikawa, Bryson DeChambeau, and Max Homa have participated in the tournament.
In 2021, the Southwestern Amateur Tournament introduced the highly competitive women’s division. The World Amateur Golf Rankings gave the women a power rating that placed them as one of the top 10 amateur tournaments in the country.
The field consists of juniors, mid-amateurs, and collegiate players from universities located in the West, Southwest and across the globe. Both divisions have players from 12 different states and 11 countries. Each division starts with 72 players cut down to the top 36 with ties following the second day of play.
Spectators are welcome and play begins at 7:30 a.m. The second wave of players on Wednesday and Thursday will start at 12:00 p.m.
