“Bill will be remembered for his incredible wit, quick mind, and tremendous resiliency. He was a gentleman in every sense of the word and will be sorely missed by his family.”

William Patrick Golden of Scottsdale, AZ passed away April 29th, 2020 at his home. William (Bill) was born in Chicago, IL on June 25, 1915 to Alice (Reilly) and Patrick Golden. He was the second of four children. His brother, Edward, survives.

Bill was a World War II Veteran. He spent 4 years with the army, beginning in North Africa and went through Italy, France, Belgium, and Germany. He was in the Battle of the Bulge.

He married Dorothy (Clark) in 1949. They had 4 children, Barbara, Tom, Larry, and Richard. Bill worked for Illinois Bell and was happily retired for 43 years. He was active up until last November. He loved gardening, fine dining, travel, and following business news. After Dorothy passed, he had no cooking experience but became quite the gourmet cook at the age of 87.

Bill is survived by his daughter, Barbara (Brian) of Scottsdale, Arizona; Tom (Sue) of Stow, Ohio; Larry (Shannon) of Tacoma, Washington; Richard of Scottsdale, Arizona; his brother, Edward of Sun City, California; and eight grandchildren: Jeff, Colleen, Paul, Jennifer, Steve, Christopher, Kelly, and Dan as well as 12 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
