Weekend, overnight closures planned for US60 Superstition Freeway beginning Jan. 6

Posted

The Arizona Department of Transportation is advising drivers, area residents and businesses to plan for weekend and overnight closures of U.S. Highway 60 Superstition Freeway in segments between Loop 101 and Loop 202 for pavement rehabilitation beginning Jan. 6.

This improvement work along 14 miles of US60 will occur over the next several months, requiring numerous weekend and overnight closures.

Beginning Friday, Jan. 6, drivers should plan for the following closure and restrictions:

  • Eastbound US60 between Loop 101 and Dobson Road will be closed from 9 p.m. Friday, Jan. 6, to 5 a.m. Monday, Jan. 9.
  • Nightly lane restrictions along westbound US60 between Greenfield and Gilbert roads will be in place from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. beginning Wednesday, Jan. 11 through the morning of Friday, Jan. 13.

Detours: Drivers can consider utilizing surface streets such as Southern Avenue or Broadway Road to connect with their destinations to the north of US 60 and Baseline or Guadalupe roads south of US 60. Alternate freeway routes include the Loop 202 Santan Freeway.

Upcoming Restrictions/Closures:

  • Eastbound US60 between Loop 101 and Mesa Drive will be closed from 9 p.m. Friday, Jan. 13, to 5 a.m. Monday, Jan. 16.
