Issues will be discussed in upcoming executive session
Posted
Independent Newsmedia
Water rights and regulation of marijuana establishments are on the agenda for an executive session by the Queen Creek Town Council Nov. 4.
First on the agenda is discussion and consultation with the town's attorney for legal advice and with the town's representatives regarding the Arizona Corporation Commission and/or the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality actions related to Johnson Utilities, as well as potential water rights agreements. Annexations and providing utility services also will be discussed.
Additionally, there will be a discussion and consultation with the town’s attorney for legal advice and to consider the Queen Creek’s position regarding a pending lawsuit: Vangilder v. Arizona Department of Revenue and Pinal County.
The council also will seek legal advice regarding regulation of marijuana establishments, as well as any governor's executive orders.
