Unlicensed massage therapist accused of sexual abuse in Queen Creek

An unlicensed massage therapist is accused of sexually abusing two clients at his makeshift business in Queen Creek.
According to court documents, the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office learned of two incidents of alleged sexual abuse, one in April and another in early June. The victims reported going to the home of Godfrey Diaz Romero — near Power and Riggs roads — where he worked as a massage therapist.
While there, the victims reported being sexually abused during their massages, records state.
On Monday, one of the victim’s participated in a one-party consent call with the 60-year-old man, who apologized for the alleged actions. He also agreed to meet for another massage session. However, later that day, MCSO detectives arrived at his house and arrested him without incident.
MCSO learned the man had not been licensed since 2004, and that the state Board of Massage Therapy had issued a case and desist letter against him.
The man was jailed in lieu of $100,000 bond on charges of kidnapping, sexual assault, sexual abuse, fraudulent schemes, and practicing massage therapy without a license.
