Trader Joe’s opens Oct. 16 in Queen Creek Marketplace

Posted

Queen Creek Marketplace, 21398 S. Ellsworth Loop, will welcome neighborhood grocer Trader Joe’s to its lineup of tenants on Friday, Oct. 16.

Trader Joe’s is known for its offering of quality, daily staples, as well as unique products from around the globe. The 12,500 square-foot Queen Creek store will be near Barrio Queen and PetSmart in the center of the marketplace, according to a release.

To mark the grand opening, Trader Joe’s will hold a ceremonial ribbon cutting followed by welcomes from the Store Capt. Jimmy Samuel, a nearly 22-year veteran of the company, and Trader Joe’s crew members. The celebration continues with trivia and giveaways as shoppers enter the store to view artwork that pays tribute to Queen Creek local attractions including the nearby clock tower, Horseshoe Park and Equestrian Center and the San Tan Mountains, the release states.

“Trader Joe’s is a grocer unlike any other,” Angie Kory, vice president of leasing at Vestar, said in the release. “Between products you won’t find anywhere else, a vast wine and beer selection and friendly employees, we know Trader Joe’s will be an incredible addition to our already extensive mix of Queen Creek Marketplace shops and restaurants.”

During its grand opening and throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, Trader Joe’s will take special social-distancing and sanitizing precautions to keep customers safe. Six-foot social-distancing stickers will be placed outside as customers wait to enter. A limited number of customers will be permitted to enter the store at a time.

Queen Creek Marketplace continues to grow, even as COVID-19 has negatively affected many shopping centers across the country. Earlier this year, Queen Creek Marketplace welcomed Total Wine, Skechers, Barrio Queen and Nekter, the release states.

A Vestar property, Queen Creek Marketplace is a neighborhood shopping, dining and entertainment destination. Featuring more than 60 retailers, restaurants and services, the 859,575-square-foot shopping center is off Ellsworth Loop Road and Rittenhouse Road in the heart of Queen Creek. Trader Joe’s began in 1967 in the Los Angeles area and has since expanded to more than 500 stores, in 42 states and Washington, D.C. Go to traderjoes.com.
