The Pork Shop, 3359 E. Combs Road in San Tan Valley, lost electrical power and the business decided to give away its meat, with hundreds of people lining up Aug. 21.
The business had closed Aug. 1 for vacation until Sept. 1, but reopened for the giveaway.
“Thank you for the overwhelming response. We gave away everything we had in a few minutes. We apologize to anyone that stood in line and did not receive anything as we did not expect such a large response. See all of you on September 1st when we return from vacation,” according to a Facebook post @theporkshopaz.
