Independent Newsmedia
Shane Hilstrom is the new baseball coach of Eastmark High School.
The hire was approved at the May 20 Queen Creek Unified School District Board meeting. Coach Hilstrom takes on the role of EHS baseball coach starting in the 2020-21 school year, including summer clinics, according to a release.
“We are excited to have Coach Hilstrom join the EHS family. His skills and experience are a great addition to our district,” Dr. Perry Berry, QCUSD superintendent, said.
Coach Hilstrom is an Arizona native and has more than 20 years of coaching experience at both the high school and collegiate levels.
Most recently, he was the head coach at Higley High School and Perry High School.
As a head coach, his teams earned multiple state tournament appearances and took a trip to the 5A-II State Championship game.
In 2011 he was named Coach of the Year by the Arizona Baseball Coaches Association and the East Valley Tribune.
“We are thrilled to bring Coach Hilstrom on board. He is a proven winner, but more importantly, he is a successful program builder. His baseball network is extremely deep and his body of work is impressive, “ Kraig Luschner, EHS athletic director, said in the release.
Mr. Hilstrom lives in Gilbert with his wife Jennifer and stepdaughters Isabella and Talia.
“I am excited to join the Queen Creek Unified School District and be a part of building the foundation of the Eastmark baseball program,” Coach Hilstrom said.
