Pronto hiring for 20 new positions

The Serrano family, owners and operators of Serrano’s Mexican Restaurants, will be providing customers with a “Taste of Pronto” through the end of September at all four Serrano’s locations.

Pronto is a new fast-casual Mexican food concept that will be opening in late fall at the family’s Tempe restaurant location, 6440 S. Rural Road. With a focus on “fast, fresh, flavorful and familiar,” Pronto will offer build-your-own combos featuring burritos, tacos, nachos, salads and more. Favorite Serrano staples such as machaca, shredded chicken, asada steak, tomatillo pork and more will be offered. And customers will also be able to add the Serrano’s bean dip, chips and salsa to their orders if desired, according to a release.

Serrano’s Mexican Restaurants are:

  • 141 S. Arizona Ave. in Chandler, 480-899-3318;
  • 1964 E. McKellips Road in Mesa, 480-649-3503;
  • 1021 S. Power Road in Mesa, 480-854-7455; and
  • 22703 S. Ellsworth Road in Queen Creek, 480-987-0192.

September specials at Serrano’s, which will be available at Pronto when it opens, include:

  • Pronto Bowl: A crispy shell layered with your choice of protein — shredded chicken, machaca beef or tomatillo pork; rice — Spanish or cilantro lime; and/or beans — black, pinto, refried; sauce — green, red, tomatillo; and the following toppings: pickled red onions, shredded lettuce, queso fresco, corn salsa and crema.
  • Mangonada margarita: Mixed frozen margarita with mango puree, tajin and chamoy.
  • Dessert nachos: Tortilla strips deep fried and dipped in cinnamon sugar topped with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, chocolate sauce and caramel.

“This is the first chance for our customers to try a few of the menu items from Pronto,” Ric Serrano, CEO of Serrano’s Mexican Restaurants, said in the release. “We are looking forward to asking them, ‘How do you Pronto?’ because our entrees are all highly customizable.”

The Tempe location has been closed for remodeling since late fall 2020. Pronto will feature ordering at the counter instead of a traditional dine-in experience with servers. The goal is to provide the same Sonoran-style cuisine at a lower price point and with quicker service, the release states.

Over the coming months, Pronto will be hiring to fill approximately 20 positions, including managers, prep cooks, food runners and dishwashers. To be the first to know about hiring opportunities, grand-opening information and specials, sign up for Pronto’s e-news at prontoaz.com. Everyone who signs up will receive a free order of two churro donuts.
