Revolt: QCUSD candidates 'within our rights' in campaigning

Posted

Please see the following opinion and guidelines directly from the (Arizona) Attorney General's Office with regard to campaigning.

We are fully within our rights to pass out fliers at athletic events so long as we are not using district resources, which we did not.

We used our own materials and volunteers. These filers were passed out at a public athletic event on patrons' cars, which are not district property. This complaint is nothing more than an attempted smear campaign.

Attorney Generals Guidelines- Please see page 9, "Expressions of Opinions," https://www.azag.gov/sites/default/files/publications/2018-06/2004_School_Guidelines_re_Elections.pdf

Our district policy mirrors the above policy.

Jennifer Revolt is president of the Queen Creek Unified School District board of governors.
