Queen Creek gears up for upcoming events

Memorial Day weekend has started, heralding the arrival of summer vacation season, but Queen Creek is already looking forward to the fall and beyond.

The town is preparing for a lineup of fall events and residents, businesses and organizations are invited to participate by hosting a booth, sponsoring or volunteering.

Founders’ Day, celebrating the town’s heritage and anniversary, takes place Saturday, Sept. 16, and “Trunk or Treat” will be on Saturday, Oct. 21. The town is even making plans for next year. On March 23, the town will host “Spring Into QC.”

Anyone interested in being a vendor, providing entertainment or having a carnival booth can download the 2023-2024 special event applications at QueenCreekAZ.gov/RecRegistration. Vendor fees vary based on booth type. A discount is available for businesses and organizations that register for all three events. The deadline for the multi-event discount is July 26. All booth spaces are 10-feet-by-10-feet and vendors are responsible for their own supplies and equipment.

Founders’ Day will be held at Founders’ Park located at 22407 S. Ellsworth Road from 5-9 p.m. This hometown event will include activities, food, music, live entertainment and the “Battle of the Badge.” Vendor applications are due on Thursday, Aug. 10.

Trunk or Treat provides a safe way for families to enjoy an evening of Halloween fun in a festival atmosphere. Trunk or Treat will be held in Town Center on Ellsworth Road, north of Ocotillo Road from 5-9 p.m. Along with other Halloween attractions, children can trick‐or-treat by going from car trunk to car trunk on “Trunk or Treat Street” to get their bags filled with goodies. Vendor, carnival booth and trunk host applications are due on Thursday, Sept. 7.

Spring Into QC will be held at Mansel Carter Oasis Park located at 19535 E. Appleby Road from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. The event includes a rodeo egg roundup for the little ones, live entertainment, billy goat bingo, animal races and more. Vendor and entertainment group applications are due on Thursday, Feb. 15, 2024.
