Town will close for the day

Posted

The Queen Creek American Legion, Duane Ellsworth Post 129 will  host its fourth annual Veterans Day Service from 8-9 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 11.

The theme is “Honoring Our Veterans Together.” The service will be at San Tan Memorial Gardens at Schnepf Farms, 22425 E. Cloud Road.

Also, town  offices and the Recreation Annex will be closed  in observation of Veterans Day. This closure will not impact public safety or emergency services.

Since its charter in 2005, Post 129 has been welcoming wartime veterans from all branches of the nation’s Armed Forces. Since the recent eligibility changes made in 2019's LEGION ACT, more veterans are now eligible for Legion membership.

If you served at least one day of active duty since Dec. 7, 1941, and have an honorable discharge, you are eligible for Legion membership.
