When and why I moved here: I grew up here so the East Valley is home to me so after I finished my education at UofA then at Yale in New England, I knew that no place felt like home to me as much as Arizona.

What I like most about living here: I love the access that the Valley provides. We are 1.5 hours from the pines to go camping, four-six hours to the beach, and five minutes to a nice golf course no matter which way you go. Arizona is such a beautiful state with so much natural diversity. I love taking my family up north to the mountains camping to escape some of the summer heat. Some things I enjoy up north is taking my children to Bearizona at their drive-through nature park. I enjoy exploring some of the lakes up north and teaching my children how to fish and kayak. I am very involved in my work so exploring Arizona on the occasional weekend with my family is one of my favorite activities.

What I do: I am a primary care provider for Hatfield Medical Group and help care for all patients but primarily focus on the health and wellness of Medicare patients.

What I like most about what I do: I enjoy being a physician assistant and primary care provider because I enjoy helping my patients understand medical issues that they may be going through. Instead of rushing through and just prescribing medications and sending someone on their way, I try and spend extra time with the patient to explain some of the physiology of what is causing imbalances in body that leads to medical conditions and how medical treatments will improve their health. My philosophy is that a patient will be more compliant with a treatment plan and lifestyle changes if they better understand their medical condition.

My interests and hobbies: My biggest hobby is adventure travel. I love travelling to different parts of the world and exploring natural wonders. When I travel I enjoy scuba diving, hiking, rafting, kayaking, and trying new local foods. My favorite adventure trip that I have done was two years ago when I travelled to Vietnam and did a five-day cave exploration trip to one of the world's largest caves (Hang Son Doong Cave). It was exhilarating to rappel deep down into a cave, examine the natural cave formations, swim in an underground river, then suddenly come upon an open area of the cave where the roof had collapsed hundreds of years ago and developed a unique jungle in the middle of the cave that was created by sunlight and rain.
