Healthy Kids Running Series comes to Queen Creek
Posted
Healthy Kids Running Series, a national youth running experience for kids ages 2 to 14, is conducting a five-week in-person running series in Queen Creek starting at 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 23, behind the Barney Family Sports Complex, 22050 E. Queen Creek Road.
“Our races are always kid focused with the ultimate goal of teaching children how to be active and healthy while creating meaningful relationships within our community,” stated Kristina Curtis, community coordinator of the Queen Creek, AZ Healthy Kids Running Series in a press release.
The Healthy Kids Running Series features once-a-week races on Saturdays for five weeks with age-appropriate race distances. Kids compete each week in their designated age or grade-level division. Every participant will receive a T-shirt and medal. Registration starts at $35 for the whole series. Registration is open at HealthyKidsRunningSeries.org.
“We are closely following the guidelines as suggested by the CDC and implementing many new measures to ensure we protect our runners and their families from becoming ill,” said Jeff Long, founder, Healthy Kids Running Series. “We recognize and understand these are challenging times, but we are offering our runners and their families a safe experience while social distancing to teach kids effort, perseverance, persistence, sportsmanship, independence and grit.”
The Healthy Kids Running Series impacts more than 60,000 youth runners in more than 300+ communities across the United States.
