Donna Foster

Posted

Donna Foster, 79, passed away in Sun City West, Arizona, on August 7, 2021. She left this world too early, albeit swiftly and without pain. She spent the end of her life enjoying the place she fell in love with as a teenager—Phoenix, Arizona.
She is survived by her beloved children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was so proud of her family and never missed a chance to share their accomplishments with friends and strangers.
Donna’s own greatest accomplishment was her success bringing city water lines to the adjacent neighborhoods of Cave Creek and Carefree, Arizona, in the mid-1970s. As Chairman of the Committee of Landowners, she met with residents on lawn chairs in her front yard, contacted every home and property owner, and ultimately raised over $108,000 from the residents to secure the infrastructure.
She left her imprint as well through her work as the executive secretary to the city manager of Peoria, Arizona, and to the administrator of Smith-Glynn-Callaway Clinic in Springfield, Missouri, as physician recruiter for St. John’s/Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri, as cashier at the Wal-Mart in Republic, Missouri, in her retirement, and as weekly volunteer at the Sun Health Resale Shop in Sun City West, Arizona. She was a cherished colleague who shared her knowledge and friendliness with everyone.
Her joys in life were spending time with her family, collecting dolls, sewing, finding bargains, laughing hysterically at Everybody Loves Raymond, drinking Pepsi, and eating salad at Olive Garden.
In everything, Donna carried herself with dignity and style. She greeted everyone with a smile and her joy was infectious.
